Moab Express Revises Airport Shuttle Schedule in Response to Air Carrier Changes.
Changes at Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY) require Moab Express to develop creative solutions for 2024.
Moab, Utah — Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY) recently announced the discontinuation of service from both United Airlines to Denver and Delta Airlines to Salt Lake City, while adding services from American Airlines(Contour) to Phoenix. This substantial shift in commercial air carrier service brings as much disruption to the ground transportation as it does the air, with a 40% reduction in seat capacity and a more dispersed flight schedule overall. These shifts could have resulted in a 60% increased operating cost for Moab Express, without some innovative adjustments. As Moab’s leading transportation service provider, Moab Express is excited to announce two new creative shuttle opportunities for air travelers in 2024.
Since 2017, Moab Express (ME) has provided professional and reliable door-to-door airport shuttle service to more than 10,500 passengers traveling in and out of CNY. While ME has expanded its offerings locally and regionally, the commitment to the airport transportation sector has never wavered and remains strong today.
“As both a community and business member in Moab, I too was anxious to learn of the changes happening at the airport. However, I also knew that Moab Express was going to maintain our long standing commitment to airline passengers, no matter the changes. The airport sector is where we began, and it feels important to me that we continue to support the airport and the entities involved.” said Tom McKay, founder and operating owner of Moab Express and Moab Express Tours.
Due to the significant changes in flight schedule and capacity, Moab Express is making the following innovative adjustments to its airport shuttle offerings.
Moab Express will be pausing the “book at airport” shuttle service model for 2024, meaning reservations will be required in advance for an airport shuttle. Private airport shuttle service is still an option, however, passengers can now also book a lower cost Custom Airport Shuttle, guaranteeing a shuttle to or from the airport for their needed date and time. In addition, a new service called the “Hop-On” has been established, where extra seats on pre-existing airport shuttles will be made available at a lower cost. The hope with the Hop-On service is to offer the local community and last-minute travelers some type of option, when available, to catch a ride to or from the airport at an affordable price point. Hop-On tickets will be $28/person and non-refundable.
With these new options Moab Express hopes to continue door-to-door airport shuttle service for as many patrons as possible, while still maintaining a sustainable business model.
Moab Express is excited about these new services for Moab travelers in 2024. All airport shuttle service options can now be booked online at this link. Any questions about the new service, or Moab transportation in general, may be sent to info@moabexpress.com or by calling (435) 260-9289.
